Working Group on the Balkans

The BISA Working Group on the Balkans was established in January 2002, with the objective of promoting cross-country analyses of specific issues related to the Balkans, which has been lacking in academic studies thus far. To this end, the working group seeks to bring together academics and research students working on themes playing out across the region.

The inaugural workshop, attended by more than forty-five researchers from universities across Britain, was held at the LSE on Saturday 16 February 2002. Papers included:
Dimitar Bechev, Oxford University Building Southeastern Europe: the Politics of International Co-operation in the Region
