The Association has a board of trustees, known as the Executive committee, who are responsible for the Association’s governance and meet four times per year.
On the Executive committee, 12 members are nominated and elected for a two - three year terms of office by the members of the Association. From time to time additional members are co-opted onto the committee, including the postgraduate network chair. The Executive committee members’ expertise and interests represent the main areas of Association activity and bring a breadth of experience from the wider world.
The Executive committee members also form a number of sub-committees that consider matters of strategy and implementation relating to their specific areas of expertise and which advise the Executive committee and operational staff. The Executive committee subcommittees currently include: Governance & Finance, Research, Publications, Learning and Teaching and Communication, Engagement and Policy.
Inclusion and Diversity is an overarching remit across all the committees and not treated as a separate matter.
