On September 5-6th 2014, the British International Studies Association organised a Model NATO with the participation of ten Sixth-Form colleges and Schools from Wales and England. The Model NATO was hosted by the University of South Wales and will took place in parallel with the actual NATO summit being held at the Celtic Manor hotel also in Newport. The Model replicated the debate and decision-making within the alliance and tackled the challenge of forging a final communique that covered a range of topical international issues. It also dealt with a rapidly-evolving crisis situation designed to test the political unity of the assembled delegates.
