Methods for NGO-related research – 2018 workshop review

This article was published on

Our 2018 workshop was a webinar and was primarily aimed at postgraduates. It focused on Methods for NGO-related research, and involved leading scholars in the field who discussed methodological issues relating to their research. Almost 60 people attended the webinar.

Key note speakers included Amanda Murdie (University of Georgia), Aseem Prakash (University of Washington), Sarah Stroup (Middlebury College), Nicola Banks (University of Manchester) and Ellen Gutterman (York University, Toronto).

They discussed the research methods they have used for key publications, and the benefits and pitfalls of these methods. They also offered excellent advice to scholars thinking of using similar approaches. We would like to thank the participants for their excellent contributions and for advancing scholarly research on NGOs.
