Working groups
Working groups are at the heart of BISA and are one of our main contributions to the development of International Studies. They provide a dynamic and proactive environment for focused research and knowledge exchange in many subfields within International Studies. Each group organises events including conferences, workshops, seminars and lectures, many of which are virtual so that you can participate from anywhere in the world. They also coordinate sections at the annual BISA conference. Being part of a working group will strengthen your network and give you the opportunity to collaborate with colleagues in your sub-field.
BISA members can join as many working groups as they wish, and the Postgraduate Network (if eligible). However we recommend joining no more than three at a time as otherwise you are likely to receive communications from every group you join. Join groups now by logging in to your member profile, or click the links below for further information on each of our 31 groups.
If you’re a current convener, or you’d like to form a new working group, the information you require is on our policies and procedures page.
BISA is entirely self-funded
