This prize, now in its second year, celebrates the achievements of the BISA working groups. Working groups are at the heart of BISA and directly contribute to the development of International Studies. All conveners are volunteers so we hope this new prize will help to recognise and celebrate their achievements.
The prize will be awarded to a working group that has contributed to raising awareness of international studies, and increasing the visibility and impact of BISA and/or its members through its activities, including support for early-career researchers in the last year (since June 2024).
Nominees must be members of a BISA working group. To make a nomination you should complete our online prize nomination form, inclusive of a supporting statement up to 300 words. You should provide evidence of how the working group has promoted the activities of its members in research, teaching, and engagement with other audiences through events, e.g. conferences, workshops, and impact and engagement activities.
Nominations open on Wednesday 8 January 2025 and close on Monday 10 February at 11.59pm (UK time). NOW EXTENDED to Monday 24 February at 11.59PM (UK time). Nominations made outside of this period will not be considered.
After a nomination is submitted, nominators and nominees will be invited to complete a brief Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) monitoring form to help BISA improve the inclusivity and fairness of its prize processes; all responses will remain anonymous and will not impact prize decisions. We kindly encourage you to take a few moments to fill out the form, as your input is invaluable in supporting our commitment to equity and inclusivity.
Enquiries about the prize and the process of nomination should be sent to the chair of the prize committee, Professor Juanita Elias: Juanita.Elias@warwick.ac.uk.
