By donating to BISA you are helping to continue and diversify our offering to the International Studies community. Whether you’d like to help a Global South scholar, an early-career colleague or the next generation of IR professionals, make your donation here and choose from one of our three specific causes, or let us choose for you.

There are options for both one off and recurring donations, and we’ll provide you with an update at the end of each year you make a donation, so you know how many people we’ve helped.

Global South

Just £17.50 will give free BISA membership to a Global South student for an entire year. £52 would provide the same for a fully-fledged academic in the Global South, meaning they’d receive free attendance at all virtual events, access to both our journals and more.

Early-career conference bursaries

In addition to the postgraduate bursaries we already offer, this fund will help us to offer bursaries to early-career scholars, in particular working group conveners who are unable to attend our annual conference without financial assistance.

Student experience events

Applying theory to practice is invaluable for IR students. At our annual model NATO and climate negotiation simulation events the future generation of IR professionals test their skills in practical scenarios and network with their peers, academics and practitioners. Setting up and running these events is costly, so we need your help to continue to provide this hands-on, experiential learning.
