We are delighted to release details of our second undergraduate-focused event of 2021.
BREXIT: what comes next?
Amidst the saturation media coverage of the COVID-19 crisis, it is all too easy to overlook the other momentous political development of our time – the United Kingdom’s withdrawal from the EU. That process is now formally complete – the transition period to full separation came to an end on 31 December 2020. With BREXIT done, important questions still remain: the status of Northern Ireland; the shape of the UK’s political, economic, diplomatic and financial relationship with the EU; and the viability and direction of ‘Global Britain’.
To consider these and related questions, the Chair of BISA, Mark Webber, will be joined by three experts on the EU, European politics and UK foreign policy:
- David Dunn (University of Birmingham)
- Charlotte Galpin (University of Birmingham)
- Richard Whitman (University of Kent and BISA President)
Following short presentations, you will be able to ask our experts their thoughts on the UK-EU relationship after BREXIT, and what BREXIT means for British politics and foreign policy.
