Please join us for our very first lunchtime work-in-progress session where we will be discussing Saadia Gardezi’s paper on Nationalism as Anti-Americanism in Pakistani Political cartoons. Saadia is currently a doctoral researcher at Warwick University, UK. Her research focuses on visual culture's importance to international politics and how "non-western" political cartoons, specifically in Pakistan, imagine the nation and national security. She has also worked as a journalist and political cartoonist in Pakistan.
The work-in-progress session will start with a quick presentation from the author with the remaining time dedicated to constructive feedback by the discussant and participants. The paper will be circulated in advance so that participants can read it ahead of time to facilitate good engagement and discussion . Please note there will only be 10 slots available for this session to ensure a detailed discussion.
The deadline for registration is Friday 31 January 2025 and slots will be given on a first come first served basis.
