Ethics and World Politics Seminar Series – Seminar 3
We are pleased to announce our third Ethics and World Politics seminar, which will be an ongoing forum for scholars to present, discuss and develop the latest work on the normative dimensions of world politics. It will take place on Friday, 28th April 2017, from 12.30 – 5pm, at the University of Leeds.
This session will feature:
Prof John Williams (Durham) on “Weaponized Refugees: Just War Theory and Obligations in Complex Conflicts”
Dr Lauren Tooker (Warwick) on “How to Do Things with Transparency: Reading Resistance to Debt in Austerity Britain with J. L. Austin and Stanley Cavell”
Dr Vassilios Paipais (St Andrew’s) on ‘Political Ontology and International Political Thought: Voiding a Pluralist World’
The seminar will kick off at 12.30, with lunch provided from midday, as well as refreshments during the session. There will also be a drinks reception afterwards.
We would, however, ask that you contact us to register for the event, so we can plan for lunch and the drinks reception accordingly.
BISA members who are postgraduate students or not in full-time employment are eligible to apply for a bursary to help cover travel costs. Please contact ethicsbisa@gmail.com for details.
We look forward to seeing you in Leeds. Please get in touch if you have any questions.
