Critical Studies on Terrorism Hybrid Conference 2024

This year’s annual conference is centred on the theme of settler colonial violence and those violences made permissible through the framing of ‘terrorism’. This invites a focus on the ongoing and current settler colonial violence in Gaza which has been described as a plausible genocide by the ICJ. We can also see a broad application of the term ‘terrorism’ being currently used to curtail freedom of speech, expressions of solidarity, and the right to protest. We will explore these issues through a range of panels, roundtables, and a zine-making workshop.
