Join us for an engaging online workshop exploring how the role of satellite imagery analysis can be applied in an academic setting and a briefing on its role since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in 2014.
William Goodhind of Contested Ground will delve into how satellite imagery has played a prominent role in press reporting, open-source investigations, and public statements by governments during Russia’s war on Ukraine since 2014. Moreover, through platforms such as Google Earth, much of this imagery is now freely available for public consumption. The investigative potential of this data source is well known, but what about from an academic perspective? What can satellite imagery offer researchers of war studies and contemporary history? Join for a briefing and interactive workshop on how satellite imagery analysis can be applied in an academic setting.
Registration will close two hours before the event begins.
