Following the results of our recent survey, we are excited to announce the start of our bimonthly online peer-review workshops! These workshops are designed to foster collaboration, provide constructive feedback, and enhance the quality of our collective work through mutual support.

How the initiative will function

  • Submitting drafts: Members are encouraged to submit their drafts, research papers, or projects two weeks before each workshop session. These submissions will be reviewed and discussed during the online workshop. Each time, we will have two papers to review.
  • Workshop sessions: We will have a 90-minute open discussion where members can provide valuable feedback, offer advice, and suggest improvements. We especially encourage our more experienced members to engage and help our junior colleagues alongside the writing-review-publication journey.
  • Cloud-based collaboration: All drafts will be uploaded to a password-protected cloud folder, allowing members to access, comment, and engage with the papers even before the meeting. This is especially useful for those unable to attend, as feedback can still be provided and engaged with.

Action steps

  1. Signal your interest: Please sign up to get involved in peer reviewing and choose the date you prefer to present your paper as soon as possible. We hope this will be a reciprocal process, involving as many WG members as possible, of all career stages.
  2. Submit your drafts: We will reach out to the signed-up members and request their drafts two weeks before the workshop and will upload them to the cloud.
  3. Engage in the cloud folder: Once papers are uploaded, feel free to review, leave comments, and engage ahead of the meeting, even if you’re not able to attend.
  4. Save the dates: 22 November 2024, 24 January 2025, 21 March 2025, and 23 May 2025. Invitations and access details to the cloud folder will be shared shortly.

We’re confident that these workshops will be a great way to support each other, improve our work, and encourage a lively exchange of ideas. Your active participation will be crucial to the success of this initiative.

We look forward to seeing your contributions!
