Ethics and World Politics Seminar Series – Seminar 4

We are pleased to announce our latest Ethics and World Politics seminar, which is an ongoing forum for scholars to present, discuss and develop the latest work on the normative dimensions of world politics. It will take place on Friday, 29th September 2017, from 12.30 – 7.30pm, hosted by the School of International Relations at the University of St Andrews.

This session will feature:

A keynote lecture by Prof Richard Beardsworth (Aberystwyth)

Papers from:

Dr Cian O’Driscoll (Glasgow) - “Winning Dirty? Victory in Medieval Just War Thought”

Dr Natasha Saunders (St Andrews) - “Beyond Asylum Claims: Refugee Protest, Political Responsibility, and Article 28 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights”

Dr Elke Schwarz (Leicester) - “Technology and Moral Vacuums in Just War Theorising”

The seminar will kick off at 12.30 with a light lunch provided, as well as refreshments during the session. There will also be a drinks reception after the keynote lecture. The seminar will take place in the Arts Lecture Theatre and the keynote lecture will be held in Arts Seminar Room 1.

This is a free event but we would, however, ask that you contact us to register for the event, so we can plan accordingly. 

BISA members who are postgraduate students or not in full-time employment are eligible to apply for a bursary to help cover travel costs. Please contact ethicsbisa@gmail.com for details.
