Navigating post-pandemic geopolitics: Greek and Cypriot foreign policies after covid-19
The Foreign Policy Working Group is delighted to announce its virtual event on one more interesting and topical theme on Navigating post-pandemic geopolitics: Greek and Cypriot foreign policies after covid-19.
The event will be focusing on Greek and Cypriot foreign policy trends and dynamics in the aftermath of the covid-19 crisis. While the pandemic has been at the forefront of debates and governmental action during the past twelve months, Greek and Cypriot foreign policies are struggling to adapt to an increasingly volatile international environment. From the election of Joe Biden in the United States to the normalisation of relations between Israel and the Arab world, we will take a closer look at the most pertinent developments affecting the Eastern Mediterranean and discuss their implications for the foreign policies of Greece and the Republic of Cyprus.
The speakers are: Dr Vassilis Kappis: Deputy Director and Lecturer, Centre for Security and Intelligence Studies, University of Buckingham (BUCSIS) and Dr Petros Savvides: Honorary Research Fellow, Centre for Security and Intelligence Studies, University of Buckingham (BUCSIS).
The event will be chaired by FPWG Convenor, Marianna Charountaki, University of Lincoln.
The seminar will take place via Zoom on 30 March 2021 from 4-5 pm (UK time).
