International Political Economy Working Group 2020 Book Prize lecture
To strengthen equality, diversity and inclusion in our field, this event has been made available free of charge by the Review of International Political Economy.
To celebrate the award of the BISA IPEG 2020 book prize, Professor Kate Bedford (University of Birmingham) will be speaking live about her book Bingo Capitalism: The Law and Political Economy of Everyday Gambling.
Kate will be joined by Dr Lisa Tilley (SOAS), a member of the book prize panel, to introduce the book, and Professor Donatella Alessandrini (Kent), who will act as discussant. This will be followed by a Q&A session. Please join us to find out more about how bingo — a female dominated and notoriously self-effacing game — enables us to think differently about regulation, gender, and political economy.
Registration will close 2 hours before the event is due to begin.
