PGN workshop: What is academic writing and how to get better at it

The mystique surrounding academic writing tends to discourage researchers from questioning what’s expected for fear of betraying ignorance. Yet even experienced academics struggle to define the characteristics of good writing in their discipline. In this participative workshop, we strip back academic writing to its fundamentals, reflect on our own writing process and consider new techniques that might suit the way we think.

Our workshop lead will be Anne Wilson. She is an award-winning scriptwriter, journalist, and careers counsellor with a passion for helping students and academics refine their writing across different media.
