Two hands locked in a handshake

Two BISA working groups - Peacekeeping and Peacebuilding, and Human Rights, Humanitarianism and Responsibility to Protect - have merged to form a new working group under the name ‘Peacekeeping, Peacebuilding and Human Rights’.

As a result, Dr Sam Jarvis (convener of HRHR2P) will become the third convener of the PKPBHR group, alongside Dr David Curran and Dr Nancy Annan, meaning the working group has three co-conveners. Having three conveners will allow the larger group to coordinate more events across a broader set of disciplines.

In terms of topic areas, all conveners feel that there is great potential to build on the excellent research already showcased in the two groups. There are also many crossover areas such as civilian protection, prosecution of War Crimes, Human rights in PB, and issues of post-conflict justice, which will benefit from a broader range of scholars.

We will be putting on regular events through the next academic year, and we look forward to you joining us!
