Looking for new convenors

Dear BISA SEE WG friends,

Our first two-year convenorship term is coming to an end. We are happy we got the chance to work with many of you over what has been, to say the least, a difficult and strange period. We hope the SEE WG provided a platform for discussion when many disappeared.

Çağlar Ezikoğlu is stepping down as a convenor after his two-year term — he has been a great part of the team and we are grateful for his contribution. Lydia C Cole and Katarina Kušić are standing for another term. With this in mind, we are currently looking for:

- At least one additional convenor. Our WG has been missing a ‘figurehead’ convenor for a while: a permanent academic member of staff based at a UK Higher Education Institute (HEI) with an established profile in studies of SEE.

- A postgraduate convenor that would take on the active role of bringing our PGR community together and working closer with BISA PGN.

As per BISA regulations, all convenors must have an up-to-date BISA membership and must be BISA members for the entire duration of their appointment. But you can nominate yourself prior to holding membership. More information about the structure and requirements of BISA working groups as well as eligibility criteria for convenorship can be found at the BISA website.

Please send your expression of interest/nomination by December 1st, 2021 to seewg.group@bisa.ac.uk, with ‘convenorship 2021’ in the subject line. If there are multiple nominations, we can hold a WG election.
