Call for abstracts: publishing in war and security studies

The BISA War Studies Working Group is pleased to host a dedicated session on Publishing in War and Security Studies at #BISA2025 in Belfast. Taking place on Thursday 19 June, from 3 to 5pm this event is aimed particularly at early-career researchers and those new to the academic publishing process.
Join leading journal editors and scholars in the field - Andrew Mumford, Caroline Kennedy-Pipe, James Patton Rogers, and Michael Williams - for an engaging session that demystifies academic publishing. Together, they will explore what makes a compelling journal article, share insider knowledge on navigating the peer review process, and provide targeted feedback on selected abstracts.
We invite the submission of abstracts (max. 250 words) for potential discussion during the event. This is a unique opportunity to receive advice directly from experts and to gain insight into successful publishing strategies in the field of War and Security Studies.
Please submit your abstract by Friday 30 May to: w.jo2@lboro.ac.uk
