We are thrilled to announce that several members of BISA have been accepted as Fellows of the Academy of Social Sciences (AcSS).

The Academy’s Fellowship comprises 1,600 leading social scientists from academia, the public, private and third sectors. All Academy Fellows are elected for their excellence in their fields, and their substantial contributions to social science for public benefit. Selection is through an independent peer review which recognises their excellence and impact.

Congratulations to:

  • Professor Helena Farrand Carrapico FAcSS
  • Professor Toni Haastrup FAcSS
  • Emeritus Professor Christopher Hill FAcSS
  • Professor Caroline Kennedy-Pipe FAcSS
  • Professor Matthew Paterson FAcSS
  • Professor Mark Webber FAcSS

BISA Director/CEO Juliet Dryden said:

“It’s fantastic that four of our former Chairs, two of whom are also Distinguished Contribution winners, a current trustee, a former trustee, and a former editor of our journal Review of International Studies, have been made Fellows of the Academy of Social Sciences. All six recipients have been recognised for their outstanding contributions to the Social Sciences and in particular International Studies. Recognising that BISA played a part in their recognition is an honour for the Association.”

You can view a list of all those who have been conferred as AcSS Fellows this spring on the AcSS website.
